Biden Pardon Betting Markets Surge as Fauci's Odds Rise
Political betting markets are actively speculating on President Biden's next potential pardons following his controversial pardon of Hunter Biden. The markets show increasing confidence in several possible candidates.
Jim Biden, the president's older brother, has emerged as a leading contender with a 33% probability on Kalshi's betting exchange - a 13-point increase in 24 hours. Bettors believe the 75-year-old could face scrutiny under a potential Trump administration for alleged questionable business dealings and use of family connections.

Fauci testifies at Congressional hearing
Dr. Anthony Fauci has also emerged as a potential pardon candidate, with betting odds at 14% on Polymarket. Republican leaders have accused Fauci of misleading Congress regarding NIH funding of research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and making false claims about COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness.
The markets show lower confidence in other potential recipients. Notably, Sean "Diddy" Combs, despite being a prominent Democratic donor, has just 2% odds of receiving a pardon while facing serious criminal charges including racketeering and sex trafficking.
These predictions come in the wake of Hunter Biden's broad pardon, which covers potential offenses from January 2014 through December 2024, and precedes his upcoming sentencing on gun and tax convictions. Emails from Hunter's seized laptop revealed close ties between him and his uncle Jim, particularly regarding international business ventures that have drawn Republican scrutiny.
